There's plenty to learn about around Forty Hall both formally and informally, and our changing programme of exhibitions and events means there will always be something new to discover!
If you are a teacher, we have a range of Education Sessions that you can bring classes to, often including Sessions based around current exhibitions on at Forty Hall. For requests to have a bespoke session designed or if you have any questions please contact Helen.Hamlyn@Enfield.gov.uk
If you are a visitor, please select your group from the menu on the left for more information if you are interested in an informal learning visit (for example as a group of adults or as a family), or visit our events pages to find details of upcoming learning opportunities.
Our public programme which focuses on Art, Ecology and Heritage offers ample opportunities for adults to engage with learning at Forty Hall & Estate. With talks, tours and workshops there really is something to everyone’s taste!
You can also take advantage of our permanent interpretative exhibition which tells the story of Sir Nicholas Rainton, Forty Hall & Estate and life in the seventeenth century. We also offer a programme of temporary exhibitions which offer new and exciting ways to engage with Forty Hall & Estate.
For further information about our events and exhibitions please visit our events page.
Forty Hall & Estate is a place for learning, engagement and inspiration and is an integral part of every local student’s educational experience, regardless of their school or age. With activities themed on Art, Ecology and Heritage, Forty Hall & Estate is a unique learning space outside the classroom and on your doorstep.
With learning sessions written and led by a qualified teacher for Primary and Secondary school groups, covering curriculum content from a range of subjects, this is a real opportunity for pupils to have extraordinary and high-quality learning experiences. Sessions will be tailored to meet the learning objectives of your class.
We have a dedicated cast of costumed volunteers who regularly offer their time to help bring history to life for school children.
There are opportunities also for schools to use the Hall and facilities as the setting for their own activities and events or to work alongside the Learning and Education Outreach Officer to develop specific sessions or resources.
Our sessions incorporate opportunities to develop literacy and numeracy skills.
All sessions are priced at £3.50 per pupil and last for 90 minutes unless otherwise stated. Standard times are morning and afternoon. Start times can be arranged to suit.
