‘Thank you so much for this workshop! It was great for the children to learn more about nature and then to be creative while making their leaf dish.' Anonymous (Workshop attendee

On the 27th October 2016 many families arrived in coats and wellies ready to explore the beautiful grounds of Forty Hall. Their task was to learn about tress on the Forty Hall Estate and select their favourite. The children enjoyed hunting through the grounds finding many different colours, shapes and sizes of leaves along the way.

Thank you for a lovely active afternoon.’Zaydan and Yasmin (Workshop attendee)

The parents thoroughly enjoyed keeping up with the children while enjoying the beautiful scenic views. In this unique workshop the children could learn, explore and then use this to inspire their creative masterpieces. In line with the beautiful changing scenery in the Forty Hall grounds, families made leaf dishes.

‘This was a really fun activity! I loved looking at the leaves. There were so many textures and colours.’Matilda (Workshop attendee)

Using clay and clay tools the children brushed, poked and moulded their very own ceramic leaf dish. From here all that was needed to be done was to pain the leaf in the colour they desired. Using only natural materials and metallic paint the children finalised their masterpieces.

‘This workshop was a lovely idea! It has inspired us to create more autumn decorations! Many thanks.’Josephine and Natalie (Workshop attendee)
