My name is Rosie I am Fourteen years old and I have been doing work experience for the past two weeks at Millfield House, which a lot of the time I have been working with the marketing team, this included working with the Forty Hall events quite a bit. My mum does a lot of work at Forty Hall and I have been living in Enfield for twelve years so I already knew a lot about Forty Hall, I went to Forty Hall a lot to purely just enjoy it with friends or family. About a month ago I finished the volunteering section of my ‘Duke of Edinburgh Bronze award’. I volunteered to help at events and around Forty Hall with Jo-Ann Brown and ‘Friends of Forty Hall Park’ I did quite a bit of work with my sister in The Walled Garden or as I normally call it The Rose Garden. And surprise, surprise I did quite a bit of Gardening in the Garden. It was actually quite fun; ‘Friends of Forty Hall Park’ are a very friendly and hardworking team of people. I also helped out at couple of events including ‘The Butterfly Ball’ and ‘Battle of the Bands’. It was great fun as I met a lot of new people. I have been doing work experience for the past two weeks and I have definitely learnt a lot about businesses and marketing; a lot of the work has been in the office but I did get to see behind-the-scenes at the Theatre, work in the Library and Box Office as well and, of course, I was involved in marketing the Forty Hall upcoming events. It was a brilliant place to come for my work experience because it boosted my confidence and I did learn quite a few skills I will most probably use in my future job.

Forty Hall is one of the best places in Enfield. Every time you visit for whatever reason it is fantastic. The Forty Hall grounds by themselves are brilliant for picnics, games or just hanging out with some friends. The Rose Garden is absolutely beautiful the flowers are stunning; The Friends of Forty Hall volunteers do an amazing job looking after it. The Forty Hall House built for Sir Nicolas Rainton is once again beautiful and painted with the history of the house it is absolutely free to wonder around the house and enjoy yourself which is exceptional. The events at Forty Hall are always exciting and there is always something for everyone. I have recently been doing a lot of volunteering in The Rose Garden and with the events and it is amazing to see that so many people love Forty Hall and the amount of effort they put in to gardening and keeping the place looking fresh and planning all the events and of course setting up all the events purely for your enjoyment. If you don’t visit Forty Hall you are definitely missing one of the best things Enfield has to offer.
