Using prompts, this workshop explores the linguistic techniques needed to capture sensory atmosphere, craft haunting metaphors, and manipulate word choice.
Whether you write fantasy, poetry, or fiction, you will learn to weave unforgettable, vivid imagery that lingers with readers long after the page is turned.
What you'll master:
- Sensory Depth: Writing beyond sight to evoke texture, sound, and mood.
- Abstract Metaphor: Using surreal imagery to strike deep emotional chords.
- Micro-Diction: Choosing precise words to instantly shift an environment's atmosphere.

This workshop is run by Sara Kapadia, a transdisciplinary storyteller whose work bridges academia, art, education and trauma-informed practice. A writer, artist, educator, yoga teacher and advocate, she draws on diverse experiences to explore resilience, healing and human connection through creative and community-centred projects. Sara also runs the free writing group, Plot Potatoes.
