Human Rights Heroes Children's Workshop (Enfield Poets Literary Festival)
Sunday 27th September, 9am - 10am
An inclusive and inspiring workshop for children aged six and over.
Interactive readings, conversations, time for questions, games and art – introducing young people to the stories of Human Rights Heroes such as Nelson Mandela, Harriet Tubman, Shirin Ebadi, Eleanor Roosevelt, Ida Wells and Fredrick Douglass.
Children will learn about Universal Human Rights, and how they apply to their everyday lives.
Finally, decorate and wear your own superhero mask to take home!
Please note: all children must be accompanied by a responsible adult throughout the workshop.
This workshop is led by Ramya Julian, an author, illustrator and dentist whose work is inspired by a lifelong love of storytelling, creativity and humour. Originally from India and now based in London, she writes for readers of all ages, drawing on a rich imagination, a sharp wit and a passion for sharing the joy that books have brought to her own life.
The Enfield Poets Literary Festival is a celebration of words, voices and creativity in our community, bringing together established and emerging writers for readings, workshops, discussions and more.
