Park Update
Message from Lorraine Cox, Forty Hall & Estates Manager (November 2014)
"The historic landscape of Forty Hall Estate has undergone an extensive period of restoration with considerable support from English Heritage and the Heritage Lottery Fund. The project has largely finished now and the contractors will be leaving the site soon. Its Autumn and as with everyone’s gardens now is the right time to do the digging, splitting plants, replanting, and rearranging historic planting schemes. We have a dedicated army of talented volunteers who live in Enfield and are absolutely committed to Forty Hall Estate, many have grown up around here. The volunteers are working with our Head Gardener and Gardeners to do the Autumn/Winter digging and planting. Come the spring when we celebrate the arrival of better weather, the Hall and its historic Landscape will be united in all their glory – one of the finest and most important historic Estates in England.
Please visit us this Autumn/Winter and enjoy a lovely walk, bike, mobility scooter, or a sledge ride in the grounds, and encourage our volunteers and gardeners as they work hard to make next spring the best ever at Forty Hall Estate".
