Grade I Listed Forty Hall (1632) was built for former Lord Mayor of London and haberdasher Sir Nicholas Rainton. The Hall is nestled in an idyllic Grade II Listed Estate, a rare example of an intact 18th century landscape. The Hall is open 6 days a week and offers a free exhibition focused on the history of the Hall and the life and times of Rainton. An exciting events, exhibition and education programme is offered the year around. In the Estate lies a working farm open to the public at weekends. The farm is home to the farm shop, stocking home-grown produce, a community vineyard, the only commercial-scale vineyard in London, and a traditional and organic orchard. Visitors can enjoy refreshments from the Nice Green Café or enjoy a picnic in the grounds. The Hall and adjacent Banqueting Suite are available to hire for private and corporate hire, the stunning venue a popular choice for weddings.
