Spring Clean and Secret Shoes workshop success

The Spring Clean and Secret Shoes workshop was held during February Half- term 2017.


From the 1600s when Forty Hall was built concealed shoes have been discovered hidden in the walls and floors of buildings all over Europe. They were often put there as gifts for deities or to ward off evil spirits and bad luck.

The Spring Clean and Secret Shoes workshop saw children spring cleaning the hall in hope of finding Forty Halls very own hidden sole. Using fabric and wool children could then make their very shoe using their creative skills. With so many lovely comments from the workshop attendees it was impossible not to share them…
