Watch Jacobean history come alive and learn how to make jam, jellies and preserves while you're at it a special workshop held at Forty Hall on Sunday 11 August.

The workshops between 9am and noon and 1-4pm give people the chance to learn how to make a Jacobean fruit jam and nutty “marmalade”. These would have been part of the final, elaborate banqueting course for a celebration meal. The fruit jam is a more traditional recipe while the marmalade more exotic and nutty.

Cllr Bambos Charalambous Enfield Council’s Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure, Youth and Localism said: "Come to the workshop and learn a new skill. It is an exciting opportunity to go back in time and experience past culture and of course it is a chance to finish with a delicious end product .”

The workshop is delivered in partnership with a “Taste of the Past” and costs £45 per person.
