Banquet for Black History

This October, Forty Hall celebrates Black History Month with a historical banquet display from the 1500s.

The Hall is exploring black history from the last four centuries in Nicholas Rainton’s dining room with interactive features. Guests will explore the role of John Blanke, an accomplished trumpet player at Elsyng Palace in the 16th Century and Chris Ofili, a Young British Artist who questioned racial stereotypes through his Art and won the Turner Prize in 1998, as well as other key figures from black history.
